Gastroscopy(colonoscopy)

If a biopsy is necessary after a gastroscopy (colonoscopy), a biopsy is performed. Patients taking medications that can cause bleeding, such as aspirin or Plavix, must stop taking the medication one week before the examination.

Fasting for the check-up examination from midnight

You must fast from 12:00 the night before the examination, and you must not drink anything including water.

Certain medications SHOULD be continued

If you have high blood pressure and are taking high blood pressure medications, you must take the blood pressure medication in a small amount of water early in the morning on the day of the examination. (If blood pressure is high, endoscopy may not be possible.)

If you have diabetes and take diabetes medicine

If you are diabetic, do not take diabetes medications, and bring your medication with you to the hospital. (You can take it immediately after the examination.)

Urine test for female examinee

01 For women of childbearing age, it is recommended to have a checkup 5 days after menstruation.

02Women who have started menstruation can visit the hospital again after menstruation is over to receive a urine test and uterine-related tests.

03 If there is a possibility of pregnancy, a pregnancy test (urine) may be performed before the start of the examination, and additional costs will be incurred.

04 For pregnant patients, all tests exposed to radiation are excluded.

Preparing for a colonoscopy (Diet)

01 It is necessary to control the intake of food that has a lot of food waste in the intestine.

02 Limit the intake of meat and vegetables containing a lot of fiber from one week before the examination

03 Limit the intake of fruits or vegetables containing seeds for about 1 week

04 It is necessary to take the large intestine medicine well, and if the medicine is not taken well, the large intestine cannot be emptied cleanly, so the examination may be incomplete.

In a preparation for CT scanning (using contrast)

01 The test itself is not possible for patients who are allergic to contrast agents.

02 Need to check for allergies
